We woke up early at 8:00 AM, and wow, this is the first picture I snapped. What a joy …… with the fresh sea air, the bright morning sun full of Vitamin D for the skin, the rushing wind, the peaceful and soothing scent of the sea… perghhh! Feels like wanting to repeat it here again….
Waking up from sleep… the first in our mind is Kak Pah!!! Hahahaha…
We got ready as quickly as possible because we were already feeling hungry. For guys like me, it’s simple, but for Tatie, as usual, took her time with makeup. Meanwhile, I strolled around outside the room with Aqif.
Warung Kak Pah isn’t that far…. not even 500 meters. I wanted to use GPS, but that was just overkill. No worries, I’ll give you the GPS coordinates (5.319716, 103.1543) in case you’re coming from a different direction. Don’t follow the directions on Google Maps or Waze because the location is not accurate. Just follow the coordinates I provided.
We’ve arrived there. I had asked Tatie to snap a picture of the stall while I posed. Remember the row of food stalls I showed you yesterday? You need to find the last stall, numbered 30. Even if you don’t look for the number, you’ll see a crowd there—that’s the one.
In my interview with Kak Pah herself, she said the stall opens at 7:00 AM and usually sells out by 8:30 or 9:00 pm. DON’T FORGET TO COME EARLY!! If not… you’ll miss out… and have to wait for the next morning.
Here’s the menu. I think the nasi lemak might be something people rarely eat. If anyone does, it’s probably the locals who are tired of eating the nasi dagang daily. Kak Pah doesn’t sell many food… just nasi dagang and nasi lemak. So, even though it’s crowded, you don’t have to wait long, just 5 minutes. What did we order? One plate of side dish and two plates of nasi dagang. Why just one plate of side dishes? Because the fish is quite big and can be shared with two people. In the mornings, we usually don’t eat much, just enough to fill the stomach.
Just like I said earlier… one plate of side dishes is enough for two people unless you’re a glutton, hahaha. I even took a little bite, a typical impatient human! Guess how much it costs for two nasi dagang and one plate of side dishes? Just MYR4.00!! So cheap… Kak Pah said she intends to keep it affordable. She only charges for the side dishes, not the rice. Alhamdulillah, may Kak Pah’s business thrive and bring in lots of blessings, amen.
Everyone was full. Tatie only fed Aqif with a plain nasi dagang. Kids aged 2 can’t properly process curry, spicy, or sambal dishes.
Kak Pah’s Stall… so many people, right? Her ‘territory’ extends to the left and right of that pillar.
This is Kak Pah. Even Chinese people come to eat here. Clearly, Kak Pah is very popular. From what I remember, she has been selling nasi dagang for 30 years. While many other places are just as good, for me, this is enough to experience the original nasi dagang.
It was only 9:30 am. After eating, we strolled around Batu Burok Beach Public Park. Not far, just nearby. A few days earlier, I checked out the beach photos on Google Street View, so I saw this public park. What’s interesting is that it has a new, large, and spacious children’s playground. In my mind, I thought it would be a perfect place for Aqif to have some fun. I parked the car by the roadside.
There he goes. Aqif was the first to jump in. This playground set is new; there are 4-5 more sets there.
Some other playground sets.
Even the mom couldn’t resist feeling like a kid again.
So much fun!!
Around the Public Park…
We planned to go back to the car and continue our journey, but the beach looked too appealing. Okay, let’s take a quick shot.
The three of us….
The sun was so bright that I had to borrow Tatie’s sunglasses for a while.
As usual… kids and the ‘sand crisis’…
Love the view of the Rhu trees. Then, we headed to Bazar Rakyat and Pasar Payang.
Photos around Bazar Warisan. For directions, the search is already available in the GPS. Originally, we planned to come here early in the morning, but it seemed like not many shops were open early. Just to let you know, parking here is very strict. Make sure to put coins in the parking meter. So, we went straight to Chinatown.
